Thankfully, things are looking a bit more positive since Bob Iger has once again returned as CEO of The Walt Disney Company. We know that Disney lost billions of dollars in the last few years, and then CEO Bob Chapek announced that they were cutting the construction budget by hundreds of millions of dollars over the last couple of years.īecause of this, many of the new rides and attractions coming to Disney World were either delayed or canceled outright. The past few years were supposed to be big years for construction, but the Disney World closure changed that from 2020-2022, and all mostly all the projects were slowed down moving forward. The last few years have been interesting, to say the least, and things haven’t gone exactly the way Disney originally planned. It’s really fun to watch and will give you an insight into what actually goes into these complicated systems. We try to stay on top of all the different construction zones around property (and there are plenty of them) on a monthly basis so you can even see these new rides being built stage by stage.
